Chlorella has a hard cell wall . Spirulina has no cell walls. That's why some people come up with the idea of breaking down the cell walls.

This is done with heat, high pressure or even microwave radiation . All of this just destroys nutrients. However, it is argued that this makes it easier to get to the nutrients because the cell walls are then destroyed. Interestingly, this has never been proven.

Chlorella has been in nature for billions of years, just as it is today. Hard cell walls. There is a reason for this. The intact cell walls can do things that spirulina without cell walls cannot do.
